History of Tarot
The chronological history of the Tarot is difficult, at best, to substantiate, as many authors and scholars have proven. It does seem that the practice of doing a spread of Tarot cards in formations came into recorded public vision in 18th century Europe however, those belonging to secret societies place their intuitive wisdom as steaming from Egyptian Priests, magicians and alchemists, amongst others. The most influential of which being those of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.
